This is a side project of mine. UX|UI design for a social and photography app that caters all your needs. Peek is a social media platform that allows users to find nice places to take photos and share them with friends.

OVERVIEW
As you hurry about, there is little or no time to take in the world around you. Life literally becomes a blur of activities that you aren’t able to enjoy or be present with. Peek provides the opportunity to get to know locations around that you never visit, connect with like-minded people, and share your experiences with friends.
PROBLEM SPACE
So, you're looking to go out with friends or visit a new city and take awesome photos. But you might be asking yourself, “Where are all the good places to take pictures near me?” Peek is here to show you a great location to be inspired by and capture photos that you can be proud of.
USER RESEARCH
Data associated with photograph and social media mobile applications were gathered, analyzed, and narrowed down using affinity mapping. This method was used to help narrow down the information and concentrate on the relevant information to be able to combine the functionality of a social media platform and a photograph mobile app.
People don't have time to look for places to visit.
It’s hard to find new original places to take photos.
People want to take a break from routine and explore new places.
People find it exciting to share with friends new experiences in life.
PERSONA & JOURNEY MAP
Based on the research data, user persona and user journey map was built. The user journey map displays people's thoughts and emotions in the progress of taking photos for social media.
The user's pain points involve the whole process of taking a nice photo since the difficulty to build a nice profile, how hard it is to find places to take photos, the complexity in managing all the right technics and the following process of editing the photo. As the goal of the app is to make it easier to take photos, the solutions suggested are simple and effective to serve the user in this process.
SITE MAP
Since the users are busy and have less time, the information is organized in a simple way that helps them find places to take photos and editing them.
WIREFRAME
Before getting into design, it was indispensable to map out all the content. and define two critical compoments: Wireframes and Site Map. The driving principles for this project relied on a smooth navigation and functionality, so the idea was to focused tightly on assembling an easy and fun system to find places and editing photos.
APP
Splash and login screens are minimalistic and clear, the users can easily access the application with fun animations. For people using the app for the first time, there are Facebook and Google sign-up options.
The app's home page consists of the social feed with the most recent friends posts, on the top of the screen there's a personalized list of locations for your to check for a nice picture.
Find interesting places that you weren't looking for, take a break from routine life to enjoy what's around you, plan trips... Endless possibilities and places to visit.
